You’re in Charge of You

Something I’ve realized in a new way this weekend is that I am responsible for my own destiny. It’s not up to certain leaders or teach or mentor me. It’s not up to my friends to encourage me. It’s not up to anyone but me and God.

It is my responsibility to say yes to the leadership of Jesus. It is your responsibility to say yes to it for you. Our destiny and maturity in God is ultimately up to us. We have to lay hold of it for ourselves.

So what are you waiting for?

    Who said I’m waiting?

Slow and dumb at this maturity thing, yes, but pursuing it nevertheless.

That’s funny, because I had this same realization this last week. It IS up to me.

I think I was waiting for that other person with “the faith” to spur me on, then I realized it was me. I’m the one that gets to talk big, dream big and speak life to my inner man because God is big and He’s awakening me to His reality. Good word.

yep.. I’ve been waiting for people to encourage me and believe in me.. that’s good and all, but you’ll just come to a point that you grow tired of waiting and run as hard as you can towards your destiny with Christ.. it’s leaving the fifty behind.. our insecurities and failures shouldn’t at all hinder us, we’re in God’s hands.. could we ever be lost when He’s holding our hearts?

Again, you have perfectly timed this with what I have been learning. I read this two days ago:

“The poverty of uniqueness… is a lonely yes to the whispers of our true self, a clinging to our core identitiy when companionship and community support are withheld. It is a courageous determination to make unpopular decisions that are expressive of the truth of who we are - not of who we think we should be or who someone else wants us to be. It is trusting enough in Jesus to make mistakes and believing enought that His life will still pulse within us. It is the unarticulated, gut-wrenching yielding of our true self to the poverty of our own unique, mysterious personality. In a word, standing on our own two feet is an often heroic act of love.”

There are 5 sphere’s of government that the Lord has instituted. The first is “self-government”. This means that you have the “power” to run your life and make your own decisions. Of course, the Lord’s intention is that each of these sphere’s of government come under the Lordship of Jesus - or the Kingdom of God. This WILL HAPPEN when He comes to reign. A while back I heard David Sliker say “the key to everything is self-government”. Submitting our will to the Lord’s NOW is allowing Kingdom reality to come to us. You are right, we are the ONLY ONES who can determin our destiny’s by submitting and obeying the Lord fully.

Be who he created me to be not someone else! I’m reminded of this quite often. I can only be who I am! Daughter of the Most High!
