Yesterday afternoon my Grandma Blanc passed away. She was 94 years old. My 98 year old grandpa was there by her side. Expressing his gratefulness that he was able to be with her all the way to the end.
My wife and I are flying to Colorado tomorrow to help with family and funeral matters. I am looking forward to seeing family I haven’t had a chance to see in a while as we reminisce about past times and share stories.
Anna and I return on Friday to another weekend dedicated to finish the job we started of painting our house. The rain has been a major bummer in that regards.
God bless all of us who are beginning the fast today - no matter what we are doing to participate. This is a time to be in great expectation of the activity of the Holy Spirit, and to thank God for this 40 day gift.

WOW, what a blessing to have grandparents for so long! What a legacy she has left in her family! Just your short description gives me the impression that there is a lot of love in your family and you are truly blessed. Not all families can have a funeral like this. I know you will miss her, but it will only be a breath away before joining her for eternity. Hope in God is a wonderful thing. God bless you as you minister to your family this trip.

I’m a Californian visiting IHOP, just flew in last night and I also lurk here at the fight spot. I had n off-hand hope to find you in the prayer room and give you a note or something about how much I apperciate your blogging but God had other plans, didn’t he? I hope you have a peaceful and memorable time with your family this week

You just made me happy that you refered to this fast as a 40 day gift because truly it is. what is better than cleaning out garbage in one’s life to draw nearer to God for 40 days. Standing on Him rather than our stuff.
