Weekend Survey: Your Blog’s Hidden Pillar Post

April 21st, 2007 | Weekend Survey | Syndicate Content

Every blog has them: Those posts you toiled over but nobody discovered. After a few days it slowly moseyed down your main page and finally fall over the edge and into the abyss of the archives never to be read or commented on again.

This weekend, your job is to tell us about that hidden pillar post.
Find that gem, and give us a link in the comments to it and a quick synopsis. And while your at it, why don’t you tell your own readers about it on your site?

NOTE: For those who don’t know how to post a link use the code below. Replace “WEB-ADDRESS” with the whole web address for your posts link (include the http:// and everything). Be sure to leave the quotes in. Where it says “Your link name” you can put the title of your post. When you’re done the title will be a link, and your comment will look better.

One of my hidden gem posts I wrote nearly a year ago:

    Batpized in the Spirit

It’s an article about seeking to be sent by God to be a witness of the truth.

hrm… well I had a lot of good ones when I was blogging “common good”… but since I just started blogging again, I don’t have many, and readers just haven’t found out I’m blogging again.

I do have a good one about The Fear of the Lord that you can read…

I didn’t really start trying to write pillar posts until I left Blogger for Wordpress. From my limited selection, I’d say my post on the spiritual authority we have as believers is a good one. Every once in a while the post gets a hit from a Google search, but mostly it lives quietly in the archives. Read it here.

For a while, I featured a box in my sidebar to highlight older posts like that. But no one ever read them. Shawn, do you think that bloggers should go through their archives every couple of months to highlight old posts? Or should we focus on moving forward?

I think this is my 5th day, but for that matter, I am a little undiscovered.

A Misty Edwards song gave me inspiration for this blog: This is who I am

I blogged a paper that nobody commented on. To be fair, it was very long (4.5 pages in MS Word, Times New Roman, 12-point font), but kind of disappointing that nobody read it.

My favorite quote from the post: “When a nation removes a Biblical foundation from their structure, everything collapses. Abortion comes, thus murdering 35% of the population. Homosexuality comes, thus distancing our nation from God and furthering our covenant with Satan. School shootings come, thus silencing the church for fear of being martyred.”

For me, it would be part 3 of my series on the spiritual gifts. The series hasn’t continued since then, mostly because of a lack of feedback. To be fair, most of my target audience is handling a veeeery busy semester, and this was a long post. Maybe the series will continue during the summer…

I blogged a similar topic here http://beyondimensions.blogspot.com/2007/01/young-at-heart_11.html that I feel went largely unnoticed- who knows- maybe for good reason. But I’m feeling the aforementioned article as well. Best, btd

    I can’t decide between two:

    http://a-creative-name.blogspot.com/2007/02/i-choose-to-be-worshipper.html

    and

    http://a-creative-name.blogspot.com/2007/02/and-spirit-and-bride-say-come.html

They were right next to each other. After the “I choose to be a WORSHIPPER” post, I named my blog with the same name. The other one, “and the Spirit and the bride say COME!” I ended up writing a song about. They are still common cries of my heart.
