Premium Links: Spring 2007

March 09th, 2007 | Blogging | Syndicate Content

In an effort to highlight sites I truly enjoy, without simply offering a giant mass of links on my sidebar I’ve been rotating the Premium Links. I want to say thanks to Josh, Dave and Ian for setting the bar high in the last rotation. I have four new sites I want to point out to you, and they are from all over the globe. Meet Phil, Glenn, Molly and Martin.

1) Phil Bowell of Electric Weekend

Electric Weekend
Phil is 22 and lives in the UK writing about Tech, Design and Christianity. (Sounds a little like FTSA?) Some other stand outs of his blog are the use of stars and Apple Themed headers.

I don’t remember how, but I found Electric Weekend a few months ago. The sight got my attention (I think it was the background pattern) so I burned the feed. After a few weeks of following Phil’s post I realized I had found a gold mine. Through Electric Weekend I was introduced to iBAM, and read a post that makes me want to get a twitter account.

If you’re looking for a site with a good mixture of content, and some great linked lists then check out Electric Weekend.

2) Martin of Kwerfeldein Photography

I found Martin’s site thanks to his comment in last weekend’s post. Kwerfeldein Photography is a photoblog, and it is stellar.

Martin is a professional photographer living in Germany. A few of my favorites so far are A, B, C and D. You can see them all at his site, here.

3) Molly’s Macaroni and Cheese

Mac and cheeseI know Molly through IHOP. She just started writing a few weeks ago, but her blog (and don’t tell her I didn’t call it a wordcast) is delicious. The best way to describe it is to quote her:

This wordcast contains macaroni (topics of substance) and cheese (topics that are really good for nothing but a little flavor) and sometimes macaroni and cheese (topics that include a little of both). Enjoy.

She had me from her first post. Molly’s site is entertaining and encouraging. If you knew her in person you would not be shocked one bit to read what she writes. And when you visit her, be sure to scroll over the names in her blogroll to view the title tags (feel free to suggest a new one for me).

4) Glenn Wolsey dot com

Glenn WosleyI am new on Glenn’s site, but I felt at home right away. My introduction to glennwolsey.com was via digg to his post on the 10 most beautiful blog designs.

After reading that first post - but not having the time to read anything more - I added him to my RSS list so I could checked back later. As I was reading through the headlines NetNewsWire several of his articles caught my attention. So I went to his site to browse and read some more. He has an excellent site design - thanks to Andreas - which made reading on his site a pleasure, and had me seriously contemplating switching to sans-serif copy.

As I was reading through Glenn’s past posts, the first thing that hooked me was Glenn’s passion for time management. A man after my own heart*. He also has some superb archives on blogging tips and productivity posts (to name a few).

Oh, and he’s writing from New Zealand.

So there you have it. Four new blogs from around the world. Go check ‘em out.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped me get here today - Wordpress, my wonderful fans, and Shawn Blanc, who made this award possible. I’d like to give a shout out to God, too. Without all of you I could have never…Oh shoot, they’re playing me off!
