Voting is Open

January 08th, 2007 | Announcements | Syndicate Content

Voting is open for the Blog Post of the Year. Vote Here.

I was amazed at how many sites I’d never seen before submitted. Thanks to all of you.

A lot of really good stuff was submitted and I even added a few new people to my RSS feeds. We read through each post over the weekend and tried to pick posts that were catchy, interesting, well-written and/or easy to read ‘out of context’ for both bloggers and non-bloggers alike.

Voting will be open until this Friday at midnight.

Also, two prizes have been added: A beta invite to join virb for the two runners up.

Are you still reading this? Go vote. And have your friends vote. Have your friend’s friends vote. Have your mom vote. Even get your dog to vote.

Hey, how do you vote? I clicked on them all to read them and think I voted for the first guy when I wanted to vote for the second.

You click on the title to read the post (which opens in it’s own window), but click on the radio button to select who you want and then press “vote”.

Sorry if it is confusing at all. I tried to make it as user friendly as possible.

Apparently I am not to blog savvy. I don’t see a radio anywhere. Is it when I open up the post or is it on your site? You did a great job, I am just not catching it.

If you’ve already voted you can’t vote again.

Instead of seeing radio buttons you’ll see percentages of votes behind each post title.

So if someone (an unnamed 13 year old) already voted using my computer I can’t vote from here myself, huh? Bummer.

I voted for the “most awkward/embarassing moment of the year” post, seeing as I had already come across it as a link on someone else’s blog, so it’s obviously getting exposure in the blog world, and even one of the other posts in the contest had references to it in their comments! Just my 2 cents in case they don’t win. ;)

I am a mom of one of the finalist and voted early and often. (jk) Let me just say that the blog on the first blessing was insightful and revelatory. I don’t know who that person is, but they are really good. I wonder if they got their writing skills from their mother.
    Check it out.

    Dear Shawn,
I decided to critique the submitted blogs on my website because I found the polls to be surprising. Anyway, I have pictures coming at you tomorrow. :)

I think that the reason the mix tapes is winning is because everyone clicks it first to read it and by doing so they actually end up voting for it.

@ Jen: By clicking on the title of the post you are only clicking on a link. To vote you have to select one of the radio buttons next to the title and then click vote. Also, the first post in the list is “I love you today, Hate you tomorrow”

@ Abby: Thanks for sharing your link.

I’m not sure who posted up there using my name, but it wasn’t me.. I figured out how to vote and I didn’t think it was that difficult at all.. Maybe I need to give my dear brother, Adam, a few pointers…

@Ben: I thought yours was hysterical. I would have voted for it but am a blood relative of another contestant. You get the creative, “plucky comic relief” vote.

Praying for the cat definitely got my vote! The mix tapes was a okay but it didn’t leave my laughing my head off and identifying with the guy all at the same time. Pray for that cat!
