Review: Crowfoot Valley Coffee

Americanos Across America

Crowfoot Valley Coffee

The Place:

Crowfoot Valley Coffee Company: The (un)official coffee shop of Castle Rock, Colorado. The official coffee shop of the Blanc family.

They roast their own beans and have won a few national awards for the results.

The Barrista:

Jason … The founder, owner and barrista extrodionaire of CVC.

The Drink:

12 oz. Double Americano with room for $1.65

The Drinking of the Drink:

When I took off the lid to add my cream, lo and behold there was one of the most perfect looking cremas I’ve seen in an americano.

It seemed like a sin to add any milk so I had to at least taste it before adding the usual few ounces of cream, but it tasted so good black that I drank the whole cup un-tampered.

This was my first black americano, and it was stellar.

The Conclusion:

CVC is a must-have for anyone who knows what ristretto means, owns a burr grinder, or refuses to order Mocha Frappaccinos at Starbucks.

There was an article in today’s paper (does anyone read those anymore?) that says: “Going bald? rub coffee on your head”. Scientists estimate up to 60 cups a day would be needed for significant amounts to reach follicles in the scalp. That’s a lota mocha!

@Esther: Is that 60 cups of grounds? If that’s post-brewed, I think I could do it. I could upgrade my shampoo to a cream and sugar mixture.

It was 60 cups of coffee that you had to drink for it to reach the follicles in contrast to using the coffee grounds and rubbing it into the folicle. or something like that. But you have a great idea in adding cream and sugar… You could use Randy as the test to see if it works. Then if he wins the Presidency, he could be your best advertisement! What a great idea!! :) Dumber things have happened. Together you could make a mess.

I think I have 3 or 4 gift cards to CVC for all the times I’ve been to your place and you’ve given them to me. Part of me doesn’t want to let go of them… but it’s probably more likely that you’ll actually use them. If I can dig em up I’ll give em a real good consideration for returning them to you… and probably keep them and just go to Colorado with you again some time. And share them there.
