Just got done watching all three (extended) versions of Lord of the Rings. It became a tradition ever since my folks bought a bigscreen HDTV. I think all together they add up to about 13 hours of film time. We watched it over a 36 hour period with breaks for sleep, sandwiches and popcorn.

I have watched all three of them in a row. But not the extend editions. Sounds like fun though.

It was fun. Especially when you’re in town visiting family.

We watched all 3 on successive days Dec 31, Jan 1, Jan 2
I enjoy LOTR but unlike some of my friends, sitting through 3 in one sitting is too much for me

I like LOTR marathons. And I also like the Star Wars marathon that immediately follows. Yes, I am one of the few that like LOTR and Star Wars.

And then followed by a Back to the Future marathon, followed by a Karate Kid marathon…

star wars - OK
Back to the Future - starting to get a little questionable
Karate Kid - that’s just nuts

As long as we’re on Trilogies I guess I’d better mention The Godfather. (Except it’s best to stop after the 2nd one.)

You forgot about Die Hard!
Let’s pretend the Matrix trilogy doesn’t exist.

Has anyone watched the X Men trilogy? We got that for Christmas and I thought the 2nd and especially the 3rd was just plain evil. I don’t need to watch that again. You can’t kill Capt Picard and get away with it!!

Ha, I saw this post during our little break in-between The Two Towers and Return of the King. It’s an epidemic!

That was fun, wasn’t it, Steph? We started out watching with some other people, but I don’t think they enjoyed our added “commentary.” Seriously…you cannot sit through a LotR (extended, of course) marathon and NOT make fun of everything.
