Our time is our life.
If we don’t manage and focus our time we will squander our life.
I did a whole week series on this in the 168 hours to a focused life.
Here are some key quick points about living focused with our time:
- Hungering and thirsting will drive us. We will live for the things that we desire.
- It’s not working that is the curse. It’s the sweat and the toil. We were made to be productive.
- Without an agressive schedule you will spend your time doing things you don’t value
- Good is the enemy of best
- A good friend of mine once said: If you don’t do it today, you won’t do it tomorrow.
I have 3 daily goals that I want to accomplish every day. At the end of the day I know if accomplished them or not. If I did then I know that I’m pressing in towards God with followthrough. If I didn’t accomplish them then I have to re-assess for tomorrow so I don’t fall into a downward spiral of lethargy and luke-warm Christianity.
Some Verses
“Walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise…redeeming the time…” (Eph 5:15-16)
“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12)

This is my greatest weakness. Squandering my life scares me yet I do it so well. Thanks for this week’s series. I need it. I love what Mike says after sleeping & eating 10 hours a day all of us got 100 hours. We all get the same thing…God is really fair in this respect. Now if I can just get some traction on the whole time thing!

This too is also my greatest weakness. I can schedule when I’m supposed to be in the prayer room and praying or singing on a set. But I can never seem to manage my time outside of the prayer room.
