My sister, Elise, recently had her Bachelor of Fine Arts exhibit for her graduation from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Her artwork was all based on Bible verses from the Song of Solomon. Her display truly was the most captivating. Way to go, Elise.

Is that your sister incorporating herself into the Ointment being Poured Forth? I like it. I love how beauty coninuously amazes me and how it’s just a mere faintest taste of how wonderful God is.

My favorite is Lo the Winter is Past the Rain is Over and Gone.
The fresh flower model is my cousing, Jaleh. The picture doesn’t do justice to the instal. There was a scarlet red fabric tying everypiece together. There was the smell of fresh flowers. It was amazing.
We were all blown away by the quality and depth of the art.

Shawn and Elise: Your grandfather, Garry Benson (my brother) was kind enough to send me this posting. I’m delighted to be able to see what Garry has been talking about for some time now, although I believe he thought the exhibit was to be the subject of photography, and not the wonderfully-executed oil paintings! What a delightful surprise–I didn’t even know that Elise is a painter! Extremely interesting biblical subjects, very nicely rendered, and I’m particularly fond of the Rose of Sharon because rendering/painting a rose is no easy task and this is done beautifully Elise (also, and conicidentally my granddaughter is named Rose). Shawn, I’m going to send this to Ryan, your cousin, my son, as I know he will be interested. Neither of us has forgotten the wonderful Thanksggiving we were fortunate to spend with Marian and Garry in winter of 1995 and we also were privileged to spend time with both of you! I wonder if you remember, it was a long time ago! Merry Christmas to you and your lovely wife, Shawn.

Dear Grandson Shawn. Before I give you my ideas on your sister Elise, I want to say something about you. You have a charming personality. You have a great mind. You will go far in this world. You know how to make the right choices. Two examples: your wife, and your career.
As for Elise - while God was creating her before she was born, He was planning a very precious individual. One that would not only have a sweet personality, but would be thoughtful, kind, talented, famous, and loved and appreciated, not only by her family, but by the whole world.
