Comment Contest UPDATED

November 09th, 2006 | Announcements | Syndicate Content

To make this contest better and more fair I am changing the Rules. It’s better now. Check it out:

Recently changed to my comments policy is policy number 7 which states:

Whoever posts the 750th comment on this site will receive a free chipotle burrito paid for by me.

Picture 13.png
The only thing better than a Chipotle Burrito is a free one; and October 31st comes but once a year my friends. This contest is made possible by WordPress, which keeps track of the total number of comments. There is currently 620 comments that have been posted.

In theory this could be over in one day if everyone who visits daily left a comment. But my guess is that someone will win in the next week or two… The race is on (and now more fair)!

Update: Theresa won the contest. Check it out here.

Maybe you’re curious about what’s rolling around in my head for posting this? Do you want to know what I’m thinking? I’ll tell you.……nothing.

I just think it’ll be fun. I’m not overtly straining myself so I can get people to comment more (this site already has a great readership base!) and I’m not trying to find out how many people visit here regularly (I already check my web stats every 13 minutes).

I’m just having fun and feel like sharing the burrito love.

Does the comment I left for you concerning Chipotle on Randy’s blog count? I would aspire to win this contest, and at some point when I can make a JoCo you would have to treat me. Heck, even if I don’t win, I will personally treat you & your wife for a beloved Chipotle the next time I visit… unless you’re on a 40 day fast from just about everything, (including unnecessary conversations) which was the case the last time I visited!

Mmmmmm…Chipotle! I never thought of myself as a luker on this site, but henceforth I will be an extremely regular commenter. Free burrito - that’s motivation!

Just to let you all know, I will mail you a gift certificate if you don’t live in Kansas City. And actuallyl the gift certificate is almost enough for two burritos.

Or if you want a raincheck until the next time you visit.

@Nathan - If you take me out next time your in town then your comment on Randy’s blog totally counts.

I saw that earlier…. I was quite intriqued. I think eating Chipotle with the Blancs is a treat enough, let alone a FREE one!

Do Anna’s comments count? Perhaps she’ll try to keep it in the family….. :-)

I’m liking the way you think, Shawn.

Do you suppose it would have helped my chances if I posted each word of this comment as a separate comment? I reckon that might be slightly “illegal” in such a competition, but I come from a competitive family where - I kid you not - my mother’s motto is: “Cheat to win.” Now, I’m not a cheater by nature, but free Chipotle might bring it out in me… I apparently already carry the genes.

@Jo - A’s comments have to count or I’d be in trouble.

@Hollie - If you had posted each word in it’s own comment box you would have gotten them all deleted. “Real” Comments only. I’ll post more about that later. If your comment isn’t deleted, then it counts.

The point isn’t to go commenting crazy. The point is (other than winning that burrito) to get comfortable speaking out on this blog and other blogs.

    HI SHAWN!! How are you?

Have you ever had a Cosi sandwich? They should open a Cosi restaurant in Kansas City. I had my first one last week… yummm! Maybe next year this time there will be one there and you can do this kind of thing again.

    :)

You got it Shawn - I do recommend Cosi since it is very big east coast. But it is pricey.

Anna, that was Jo who asked about your eligiblity. If you asked me, yours should count twice. =) I was feeling out how to cut corners to win. Of course, I was just teasing; I would ever really do that…

  17. Jo said:

    I don’t know… Hollie, you’re a tough fighter.
And Anna…. I think Shawn should buy you Chipotle on every day that ends with “Y”.

Actually…. probably not a good idea. Do you KNOW how many calories are in a burrito?

  18. Shawn said:

@Jo - Anna would love a burrito every day. Well, maybe a rotation between chipotle and wendy’s. But then we’d have to raise a whole ‘nother army of supporters just for chicken burritos with black beans.

Has anyone out there discovered the joys of the burrito bowl with the tortilla on the side? Wow. More ingredients and more fun. Not just biting… scooping and biting! Oh the joys.

Anna - I’ve thought about trying the burrito bowl, but I love the soft, yummy tortilla.

Shawn - I think I like the 750th comment better than “first to 75 comments”. I’ve been restraining myself from giving in to the urge to go through your archives and comment on every post. Now I can stop fighting with my competitive side and just comment like a normal person.

I too like the 750th comment. Kind of like being the millionth customer at a grocery store or something and you win a free ham…
Now I have to say that If I win this I won’t be able to spend this gift card until the Chipotle is built around here…who knows when that will be…

    Shawn,

This is brilliant you’ll make 750 by Monday. You don’t realize how desperate starving missionaries are for a great Meal! Especially after GBF week where all I dreamed of was mexican food. When I fast I dream burritos! For Real!

Posted on November 10, 2006 at 8:39 pm

  25. Shawn said:

@Ben- “BAM!” … is that the sound my website will make when someone wins the free burrito?

@Chris - I am a mexican fasting dreamer too… if we want to stay steady, we’d better not hang out on tuesdays.

Do you have something called Moe’s out there? I got something called an “Art Vandelay” and kept repeatedly baptizing it in hot sauce. A nice burrito.

Burrito Tuesday is here! The burrito is one of the Father’s finest creations. I think its genesis is told in the book of Enoch. In fact when Enoch was taken into heaven; he had to bring a couple of Burrito’s with him. It is a little known fact that the Father didn’t call creation good, until He had tasted BURRITO! Contrarty to divergent theological opinion and speculation this BURRITO was not naked! Fresh, Flavorful, Life Giving Burrito! And God said, it was good…VERY GOOD!
