Mike Bickle says,
An aggressive use of time is absolutely critical if you are going to have a prayer life. It absolutely is. You cannot squander time and have a prayer life.
If you are focused and intentional about your schedule and your vision a lot of people will get mad at you. Most people don’t have a focused life and so they will not understand why you are being so focused. They will say, “Dude, come on. Let’s just go get lunch. We haven’t hung out in such a long time.
You have to prioritize the vision of your life as being a person who loves the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. Now use your time to feed that goal.

Good point. Telling people you don’t want to go get lunch, though, is a hard one. It feels so offensive and I never want to do it. It’s not hard with good friends because they understand, but what do you do when an aquantance wants to hang out and you just need to be in the prayer room?
Any suggestions for a type B personality intercessor?

Anna – I suggest just running away. Don’t say anything, just run… They’ll be too confused to be offended.
Ruth – I’ll be selling copies of my schedule for $25 / scheduled hour. But seriously, if you don’t have a callander on your computer and you want one I know google offers something pretty cool. I don’t know anything about it though.

So true… I’ve had friends who didn’t really understand, but you have to set priorities and sometimes you have to say no so you can do what’s most important. But it’s difficult to manage, because you want to also remain people-oriented instead of just task-oriented. We must let the Holy Spirit order our steps.
I agree that we have to be aggressive, too. Most of us want to do more, but it doesn’t just happen. So many times I’ve said I want to pray more and study the Bible more, but if I don’t make the necessary adjustments, I stay in my old habits.
