    A.W. Tozer,Knowledge of the Holy.

I’ve read it many time. The pages are so marked up. It always re-ignites my faith for deeper reality in God.

I would also have to say that Knowledge of the Holy is incredible. I also read a book during my internship called Clowning in Rome. That was probably one of my favorite books to date. I love the thoughts he has on meditation, and prayer!

Shane Clairborne - The Irresistible Revolution.. Read it 6 weeks ago, still reeling.

On a different note: picking up your comments on Dashboard, I found this: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22751#descContainer_link.

Awesome - it has caused me to rediscover Dashboard - made it super super useful, imo. It’s 10 bucks, but worth it. Thaks for making me revisit Dashboard!

The Evidential Power of Beauty by Fr. Thomas Dubay. For a particularly cosmic swirl, read it while reading Contact by Carl Sagan. (I know this will freak some of you out…sorry) Sagan was an adamant unbeliever, yet Contact holds threads of thought that sound like they came from someone who read Dubay.

I have so many, but I guess the ONE that has most changed my life is Abba’s Child by Brennan Manning. It undid so many crazy paradigms I had built up that were wrong about the Lord and myself. This was several years ago. I think I’ll reread it and see if it has that same effect.

Has anyone else read Abba’s Child?

Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis. I read this book when I was starting to feel very ritualistic about my faith, and it made me see with open eyes what a beautiful, terrible, infinite God we serve, and how miraculous every interaction we have with him is.

I’ll join with Anna on Abba’s Child. It was what kicked me into a new relationship with God.

Char- I’m with Randy…Evidential Power of Beauty had me undone and more in love with Jesus than I had ever been…I haven’t looked at a flower without thinking of how much Jesus loves me since.
Jesse- Fire within, oddly enough, it gave me language and a grid finally for a relationship with Jesus that I haven’t been able to shake.

This was a tuffy, but I’d have to say the Bible.

    :-p

However I have lately been reading ‘The Rewards of Fasting’ by Mike Bickle and Dana Candler. It’s changed my life style quite a bit. I think a books influence comes and goes with the season you’re in.

The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. Totally made me aware of what it means to have complete faith and trust in God, even when life is at its worst and there seems to be no hope.

Lots and lots have impacted my life through the years. Loren Cunningham’s “Is That Really You God” always seems to show up at the most significant times in our lives as a prophetic reminder of God’s adventurous Spirit! And “Earth’s Earliest Ages” by G.H. Pember (out of print I believe) is one the most provoking books I have ever read about creation and the end times.
