I titled this weblog “Fighting to Stay Awake” not because I’m on the morning schedule, But because I want to be a man who is found watching and waiting when Jesus returns.
I don’t want to be lulled to sleep by the complacency of our culture or any other distractions out there. I want the Word of God to be alive on my inner man.
I will continue to post about this, that and the other, with an occasional side-note about Mr. T, but what I want most of all for this blog is that it would be a place where we (a.k.a. me and You the Reader) can get little pieces of fuel for our own burning hearts.
Here’s to bonfires.

Has there been confusion around your title? I really dig it. I’ve been thinking a lot about that lately, the whole thing about how night is coming, and I need to be found watching and waiting. I need to be wise and have oil when the Bridegroom comes. I need Him to give light to my eyes so I don’t sleep the sleep of death.
They way you put it just shows me that we’re great minds, you and me…Coffee and revelation–it doesn’t get much better. In fact, I was talking to Marcus in Atlanta about how there’s just something right and proper and good about sipping on a hot beverage while talking about Jesus with your friends.

No Confusion. I just want all my peeps out there to know what’s up. I want you guys to know that this blog isn’t just a place where I display my thoughts for all the world to see, but I’m actually hoping to accomplish something on here. I want to give you all a reason to read beyond deathly curiosity or immense boredom … I want you to be addicted to my raging insights.
