After soliciting all the other people that were featured this week , I thought it would be a blast to have the grand finale be an interview / profile from one of you guys, the readers. So I posted a mini-questionnaire and let you guys send in your submissions. I picked out the guy who I thought was cool, loved Jesus and had something worthwhile to say (not to mention my hidden criteria for answering question #4 correctly).
The winning reader submission is Andy Hailstone. By winning not only does he get the spotlight for a day, but he also gets a linkage added to the blogroll. (You can check that out on the links page.)
Name: Andy Hailstone
Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina
Web Address: ahailstone.wordpress.com
About Me: 19 year old intercessory missionary at the Zadok House of Prayer(www.zhop.org).
1. What were you doing five years ago?
5 years ago I was 14 years old and attending a small Christian school, so I spent most of my time doing school work and spending time at church.
2. If you could only preach one sermon / teach one lesson / give one speech for the rest of your life what would the topic be and what would be your point?
If I could preach one message it would be on the urgency of intimacy and how in this hour we need to draw near to the Lord so in the end we will not be deceived.
3. Is there anything in your life that really makes your life worthwhile? Why?
Knowing that I can boldly approach the creator of the universe and draw near to Him, makes my life worthwhile.
4. If you had to choose between a big, burly truck, a super fast sports car, a decked out mini-van or an old Honda Civic what would you choose? Why?
Out of the four choices for vehicles I would choose a burly truck. Why? Because I live in South Carolina and I would fit more into the culture if I had a sweet truck, and I’m 6′ 6″ tall so I fit better in trucks.
5. What one piece of advice would you give to the readers of this blog?
My advice to the readers of this blog: Go deep in the knowledge of the Lord, really getting to know Him and His character. So many people think and say that they “know” the Lord, but they don’t really know Him and will be offended when He comes back as the King of Righteousness who will judge and wage war.
6. If you could recommend one book for us what would it be?
One book I would recommend is “Deepening Prophetic Revelation by Meditation” by Kirk Bennett, not because He’s my uncle and the director of the house of prayer that I’m on staff with, but because the book changed my life and gave me practical tools on how to encounter the Lord in the Word.
7. Why do you read The Fight Spot?
I read this blog because I’m an intercessory missionary and its always fun/encouraging to read about the lives of other missionaries like me.
