This is actually a hard question for me to answer. I always liked Spiderman because his super powers were unique. I always liked Gambit for the same reason.
Even though it seems a little cliche to me, I would have to pick flying. But not because I would do a lot with it to save people.
Just being able to fly as a super-power by itself doesn’t help you that much if you’re a super hero … “o.k. I got here quick but now what?” You need a few more out-of-the-ordinary qualities if you’re going to be a well-rounded super hero.
So I choose flying because of the fun-factor. What a blast it would be to zip around here and there. My wife would be happy because it would be safer than a motorcycle; Statisticly speaking it’s the safest way to travel.
I concur. Flying, simply for the sake of flying, would be my choice. I thought for a minute about invisibility, but that might bring a lot of pressure in the areas of trust with other people. Know what I mean?
I’ll tell you who I wouldn’t want to be like–Rogue. I don’t think I’d call that a super power as much as just a stinky way to go through life…never being able to touch anyone. Abby Downing told me that you need eight meaningful touches a day to be emotionally healthy. I’m not sure if that’s an official statistic, but I’m certain there’s some truth to it.
I don’t know any superheros. I always read Betty and Veronica comic books. Can I be Betty?
Anyway, I think I need 80 meaningful touches a day. There’s no way I could be Rogue. If was, I could make some pretty spectacular speghetti, wouldn’t you think?
I would probably have to go with flying too, just because of how fun it would be. It’s either flying or being like cyclops and shooting a laser beam out of my eyes but I wouldn’t want to wear sunglasses all day long.
Yeah… I have to jump on the “flying” bandwagon. After walking for MILES in downtown Chicago it would be quite amazing to know that I could in a second just fly on over. Hungry for some fresh croissants in France? Zip on over… feel like getting a California tan? Done!
However… one major concern I would have is I am quite afraid of heights. Do you think I would lose that? Don’t think I could do much justice in the world when I”m too afraid to look down!
What about being able to drink an unlimited amount of mountain dew? That would definately be pretty cool to me! I could drink like 20 cans a day and not have any bad affects, and then I could have enough energy that I would never be tired and could get so much stuff done. It would be awesome! Well maybe not, but it might be cool for like a day. But I do think it would be cool to not have to sleep. I would just have unlimited energy and could stay up all night doing cool stuff!
