MY LIFE IS getting to the point where I now only listen to music when I’m mowing my lawn, once a week. If that even. I have never really liked mowing the lawn, and unfortunately I don’t have a kid that can mow the lawn for me.
It didn’t always use to be this way. I used to have a huge CD flip-book jam packed with CDs that I kept in my car. I used to have a sweet sound system that was worth more than my car (yes, I was one of them). When I bought my truck, the first stop I made was Best Buy to have a CD player installed. I always had music playing when I was driving. I always had a CD on when I was at home. I always had something to listen to when I was doing my homework. Always.
All of this changed quite a bit when I married a woman who is an avid talk-radio listener. I wake up to a loud radio playing sweet jams. She wakes up to soft classical and then turns on the morning news (actually I now really enjoy listening to the news in the mornings.)
So tonight I felt like catching up a bit with my old self and renewing my iTunes collection. Here’s what I got:
1. John Mayer’s new single Waiting on the World to Change

2. Kean’s new album, Under the Iron Sea

3. While I’m at it, I might as well give a plug for my current favorite worship album. Flying into Daybreak by Charlie Hall. These guys are some of the best worship bands out there. Merchant Band has developed a slight relationship with them over the past few years and they are just solid, serving guys that love Jesus.

I can loan you a lawn mower if you promised not to show him the Mentos-and-Soda video…
